Este é outro tipo de juiz, nomeado pelo Khalifah, mas que não se ocupa das questões das disputas que constituem a base da jurisdição dos outros tipos de juízes. Antes, este juiz e o seu departamento são responsáveis por nomear todos os juízes em nome do Khalifah, e por assegurar que a sua conduta e qualificações estão corretas e de acordo com a Shari‘ah.

This is a further type of judge who is appointed by the Khaleefah, but who is not concerned with the issues of the disputes that form the basis of jurisdiction of the other types of judges. Rather this judge and his department are responsible for appointing all the judges on behalf of the Khaleefah, and ensuring their conduct and qualifications are correct and in accordance with the Shari‘ah.

Dessa forma, o Qadi al-Qada‘a verificaria se qualquer juiz preenche as condições necessárias para que sua autoridade seja válida. Ele também examinaria quaisquer casos de injustiça ou de aplicação incorreta da Shari‘ah em que algum dos juízes possa ter estado envolvido, e tem autoridade para corrigir e afastar quaisquer juízes envolvidos em corrupção.
