8.1 Firstly: The army

Le Messager ﷺ envoya Zayd ibn Haritha en tant qu'émir à Mu’tah, et il nomma les émirs qui devaient lui succéder s'il était martyrisé.

- The Messenger (PBUH) sent Zayd ibn Haritha as an amir in Mu’tah, and he appointed the amirs that were to follow him if he was martyred. .

Ibn Sa’d a rapporté que le Messager d'Allah ﷺ a dit : .

Ibn Sa’d narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: .

« L'émir du peuple est Zayd ibn Haritha ; s'il est tué, alors l'émir est Ja’far ibn Abi Talib ; et s'il est tué, l'émir est Abdullah ibn Ruwahah ; et s'il est tué, que les Musulmans choisissent un homme parmi eux et en fassent leur émir. »

“The amir of the people is Zayd ibn Haritha; if he was killed then the amir is Ja’far ibn Abi Talib; and if he was killed the amir is Abdullah ibn Ruwahah; and if he was killed let the Muslims choose one man from among them and make him their amir.”.

Al-Bukhari a rapporté qu'Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (ra) a dit :

Al-Bukhari narrated that Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (ra) said: .

« Le Messager d'Allah ﷺ a nommé Zayd ibn Haritha comme émir lors de l'expédition de Mu’tah... »

“The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) appointed in the expedition of Mu’tah Zayd ibn Haritha as amir…” .

Al-Bukhari a rapporté d'après le hadith de Salamah ibn Al-Akwa’ : « Je suis allé combattre avec Zayd ; il avait été nommé émir sur nous ». Al-Bukhari et Muslim ont rapporté qu'Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (ra) a dit : .

Al-Bukhari narrated from the hadith of Salamah ibn Al-Akwa’: “I went to fight with Zayd; he was appointed amir over us”. Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated that Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (ra) said: .

« Le Prophète ﷺ envoya une armée et nomma Usama ibn Zayd comme émir sur eux. Certaines personnes calomnièrent son commandement, alors le Prophète ﷺ dit : ‘Si vous calomniez son commandement, vous aviez calomnié le commandement de son père auparavant. Par Allah ! Il est digne du commandement...’ » [Bukhari, Sahih, #4250 et Muslim, Sahih, #2436]. Les compagnons (Sahabah) appelaient l'armée de Mu’tah l'armée des émirs. Muslim a rapporté d'après Ibn Buraydah, il a dit : « Le Messager d'Allah ﷺ lui conseillait lorsqu'il nommait un émir sur une armée ou une expédition... ».

“The Prophet (PBUH) sent an army and appointed Usama ibn Zayd as an amir over them. Some people defamed his leadership, so the Prophet (PBUH) said: ‘If you defame his leadership you defamed the leadership of his father before. By Allah! He is worthy of leadership…’” [Bukhari, Sahih, #4250 and Muslim, Sahih, #2436]. The Sahabah used to call the army of Mu’tah the army of amirs. Muslim narrated from Ibn Buraydah, he said: “The Messenger of Allah ( PBUH) used to advise him when appointing an amir over an army or an expedition…” .

- Abu Bakr a nommé Khalid comme chef dans la lutte contre les apostats et lors de la bataille d'Al-Yarmuk. Le calife a dit : « Il a confié à Khalid ibn Al-Walid le commandement du peuple, et a nommé spécifiquement parmi les auxiliaires (Ansar) Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas, tandis que Khalid les dirigeait tous ». Abu Bakr a rassemblé les armées d'Al-Sham sous le commandement de Khalid à Al-Yarmuk.

- Abu Bakr appointed Khalid as a leader in the fight against the apostates and in the battle of Al-Yarmuk. Khalifah said, “He gave Khalid ibn Al-Walid leadership over the people, and appointed upon the ansar specifically Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas, whilst Khalid managed all of them”. Abu Bakr gathered the armies of Al-Sham under the leadership of Khalid in Al-Yarmuk. .

Ibn Jarir a dit : « Et il l'a fait appeler alors qu'il se trouvait en Iraq pour venir au Al-Sham et être l'émir des armées qui s'y trouvent ». ‘Umar a rassemblé les armées du Al-Sham sous la direction d'Abu ‘Ubaidah, Ibn ’Asakir a dit : « Et il fut le premier à nommer l'émir des émirs au Al-Sham ».

Ibn Jarir said: “And he sent for him while he was in Iraq to come to Al-Sham and be the amir over the armies in it”. ‘Umar gathered the armies of Al-Sham under the leadership of Abu ‘Ubaidah, Ibn ’Asakir said: “And he was the first to name the amir of the amirs in Al-sham”.
