Um exame atento de qualquer um dos bens materiais, quer existam naturalmente, como um cogumelo, quer existam pelo esforço humano, como um pão ou um carro, sugere claramente que sua aquisição exige trabalho.

Close examination of any of the property assets, whether they exist naturally, like a mushroom or whether they exist by man’s effort, such as a loaf or a car, clearly suggests that their acquisition requires work.

O termo ’Amal (trabalho) tem um sentido amplo, que abrange numerosos tipos e formas e produz diversos resultados. Por isso, a Shar’a (legislação divina) não deixou a palavra ’Amal em sua forma absoluta, sem definição. Também não a definiu de forma geral, mas mencionou formas específicas de trabalho. Demonstrou os tipos de trabalho e aqueles que são aceitos como meios de posse. Ao examinar as regras divinas que descrevem o trabalho, percebe-se que os tipos de trabalho legal que constituem um meio válido de posse de propriedade são os seguintes:

The term ’Amal (work) has a wide meaning encompassing numerous types and forms and has various results, therefore the Shar’a (divine legislation) did not leave the word ‘Amal in its absolute form without definition. It also did not define ‘Amal in a general form but mentioned certain specific forms of work. It demonstrated the types of work and those that are accepted to be means of ownership. By examining the divine rules that describe work, it appears that the types of legal work, which are a valid means of possessing property, are the following:

1. Cultivo de terras não utilizadas (mortas).

2. Extrair aquilo que existe dentro da terra ou no ar.

2. Extracting that which exists inside the earth, or in the air.

3. Caça

3. Hunting.

4. Corretagem (Samsara) e Agência de Comissão (Dalala).

4. Brokerage (Samsara) and Commission Agency (Dalala).

5. Sociedade de corpo e capital (Mudharaba).

5. Partnership of body and capital (Mudharaba).

6. Musāqāt (Irrigação compartilhada / Plantação em parceria)

6. Sharecropping (Musaqat).

7. Trabalhar para outros por um salário.

7. Working for others for a wage.
