3 Building the Sahabah
আল্লাহর রাসূল ﷺ তাঁর দাওয়াতের শুরুতে ইসলামের প্রতি গ্রহণযোগ্যতা আছে বলে যাদের মনে হতো, তাদের বয়স, পদমর্যাদা, বর্ণ বা উৎস নির্বিশেষে ইসলামের দিকে আহ্বান জানাতেন। তিনি ﷺ কখনো মানুষ বাছাই করতেন না, বরং বিচার-বিবেচনা ছাড়াই সকলকে আহ্বান জানাতেন, অতঃপর তাদের মধ্যে ইসলাম গ্রহণের প্রস্তুতি লক্ষ্য করতেন। এভাবে বহু মানুষ বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে ইসলাম গ্রহণ করেন।
At the beginning of his call, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) invited to Islam people whom he felt had the readiness to accept it, regardless of their age, position, race, or origin. He (pbuh) never selected people, but rather invited people indiscriminately and then sensed their readiness to accept Islam. Scores of people believed and embraced Islam.
তিনি ﷺ এই নতুন মুসলিমদের শিক্ষাদান এবং দীন সম্পর্কে তাদের জ্ঞান পূর্ণাঙ্গ করতে অত্যন্ত আগ্রহী ছিলেন, এবং তাদেরকে কুরআনও শেখাতেন। তিনি ﷺ সাহাবীদের মধ্য থেকে একটি দল গঠন করেন, এবং তারা পালাক্রমে দাওয়াহর কাজ চালাতেন। তাদের সংখ্যা চল্লিশজনেরও বেশি পুরুষ ও নারীতে দাঁড়ায়, যারা নানা শ্রেণি ও পেশা থেকে এসেছিলেন, যদিও তাদের অধিকাংশই ছিলেন তরুণ। তাদের মধ্যে ছিলেন গরিব ও ধনী, দুর্বল ও শক্তিশালী।
He (pbuh) was anxious to educate these new Muslims and perfect their knowledge of the Deen, as well as teach them the Qur’an. He (pbuh) formed a group from the companions and they carried the Da’wah in turn. Their number grew to over forty men and women, who came from all walks of life, though they were mostly young men. There were among them the poor and the rich, the weak and the strong.
এই মুসলিম দলটি, যারা আল্লাহর রাসূল ﷺ-এর প্রতি ঈমান এনেছিল এবং দাওয়াহর কাজ চালিয়ে গিয়েছিল, তারা ছিলেন:
This group of Muslims who believed in Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) and pursued the Da’wah were:
১. আলী ইবনু আবী তালিব (৮ বছর বয়সী)।
1. ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib (8 years old).
২. জুবায়র ইবনুল আওয়াম (৮ বছর বয়সে)।
2. Zubayr ibn al-’Awwam (8 years old).
৩. তালহা ইবনে উবাইদুল্লাহ (১১ বছর বয়সে)।
3. Talhah ibn ‘Ubaydullah (11 years old).
৪. আল-আরকাম ইবনু আবি আল-আরকাম (১২ বছর বয়সী)।
4. Al-Arqam ibn Abi al-Arqam (12 years old).
৫. আব্দুল্লাহ ইবনে মাসউদ (১৪ বছর বয়সী)।
5. ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (14 years old).
৬. সাঈদ ইবনু যায়দ (বিশ বছরের কম বয়সী)।
6. Sa’id ibn Zayd (under twenty).
৭. সা'দ ইবনে আবি ওয়াক্কাস (১৭ বছর বয়সী)।
7. Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (17 years old).
৮. সাদ ইবনে রাবীআহ (১৭ বছর বয়সী)।
8. Sa’ud ibn Rabi’ah (17 years old).
৯. জাফর ইবনে আবি তালিব (১৮ বছর বয়সী)।
9. Ja’far ibn Abi Talib (18 years old).

বহু নারীও ইসলাম গ্রহণ করেছিলেন।
A number of women also embraced Islam.
তিন বছর পর, এই সাহাবীগণ যখন পরিপক্ক হলেন এবং তাঁদের হৃদয় ও মন ইসলামী সংস্কৃতিতে প্রোথিত ইসলামী ধারণা ছাড়া আর কিছুতে পূর্ণ হলো না, তখন আল্লাহর রাসূল ﷺ স্বস্তি ও আশ্বস্ততা লাভ করলেন। অতঃপর তিনি ﷺ নিশ্চিত হলেন যে, তাঁরা ইসলাম সম্পর্কে গভীর উপলব্ধি অর্জন করেছেন এবং আল্লাহ (সুবহানাহু ওয়া তা'আলা)-র প্রতি ঈমানের দিক থেকে তাঁদের ব্যক্তিত্ব উচ্চ মর্যাদায় পৌঁছেছে। কেবল তখনই তাঁর ﷺ উদ্বেগ প্রশমিত হলো, কারণ এই মুসলিম দলটি সমাজের মুখোমুখি হওয়ার মতো শক্তিশালী ও সক্ষম হয়ে উঠেছিল। তাই যখন আল্লাহ (সুবহানাহু ওয়া তা'আলা) তাঁকে আদেশ করলেন, তখন তিনি ﷺ তাঁর দলকে নেতৃত্ব দিয়ে কুরাইশদের মোকাবিলার জন্য বেরিয়ে এলেন।
After three years, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) was relieved and reassured when these Sahabah matured and when their hearts and minds became filled with nothing but Islamic concepts grounded in the Islamic culture. He (pbuh) then became certain that they had acquired a deep understanding of Islam and that their personalities had reached great heights in terms of belief in Allah (swt). Only then were his worries appeased, for this group of Muslims became strong and capable enough to face society, so he (pbuh) came out leading his group to confront Quraysh when Allah (swt) ordered him to do so.
